If you're considering a move to Sienna, you're looking at one of the Houston area's largest and most amenity-rich master-planned communities — and one I know well. Here's a straightforward guide to what living here is actually like, so you can decide if it's the right fit.

Where Sienna is

Sienna sits in Missouri City, in Fort Bend County, about 30 minutes southwest of downtown Houston. It's a roughly 10,800-acre community with more than 20,000 residents, built around a simple idea: everything you need, close to home.

The lifestyle

Life in Sienna revolves around the outdoors and community. You'll find resort-style pools (including one with a waterslide), splash pads, and a lap pool; miles of hiking and biking trails; lakes for fishing and kayaking; and the Camp Sienna sports complex for soccer, baseball, and tennis. The Sienna Golf Club anchors it all with an 18-hole championship course. Farmers markets, food trucks, and year-round events give it a genuine neighborhood feel rather than just a subdivision.

Schools

Sienna is zoned to Fort Bend ISD, with more than ten campuses in and around the community. Well-regarded schools include Sienna Crossing Elementary, Baines Middle School, and Ridge Point High School. Zoning can change, so always confirm for a specific address.

Homes and price range

Sienna offers a wide range — from townhomes and smaller homes in the $300s up to larger custom estates well over $1M. You'll see everything from move-in-ready resale homes to new construction. (Browse current Sienna homes on my Communities → Sienna page.)

The commute

Most of Sienna is about 30 minutes from downtown Houston by car, with easy access to the Fort Bend Toll Road and Highway 6. It's a suburban pace with the city still within reach.

Is Sienna right for you?

If you want space, amenities, and strong schools within reach of Houston, Sienna is hard to beat. If you need a short inner-loop commute, it may feel far. The best way to know is to walk the community and see a few homes in person.
